Integrated Solutions for a Developing WorldIntegrated Solutions for a Developing World
Providing professional management consulting services to international clients

It is very rare indeed that a business or organizational problem is one dimensional. It will usually cross functional/disciplinary lines in varying degrees.

Depending upon the size and nature of the project, this may have already been contemplated by multiple consulting contracts being issued by the client. On such assignments, I provide appropriate emphasis on coordinating with the other consultants. On smaller assignments, I propose and implement solutions that appropriately address the required interactions and coordination between the affected functions/disciplines.

I also believe that there is never "one solution" - what works well in one environment may be a disaster in another environment. I bring alternative approaches to the table and work closely with the client to develop solutions that are optimal to their particular situation and environment.

I work closely with the client every step of the way to derive solutions which may result in new or re-engineered systems and processes. This helps to ensure long-term success because the client has a proprietary interest (ownership) in the changed structures, systems and processes.

Also in a developmental environment, the situations tend to be somewhat dynamic (politically, socially, economically or otherwise.) and may change dramatically during the course of a project. I believe in strong communication and coordination with the client to ensure that the client's goals and objectives are achieved by modifying approaches and methodologies or adjusting the scope of work to respond to the dynamic changes, if necessary, and as agreed upon with the client.

I strongly believe that one of the fundamental responsibilities of the consultant in a developmental environment is the "transfer of knowledge" aspect. This may be explicit in the terms of the particular engagement and if it is not, I believe that it is implicit to some degree in all such assignments in a developmental environment.
